It is more than a conspiracy; KatsüK is an inside job PARTICULARS: KatsüK is an earth-punk-folk-rock group creating deeply impact-full works of art with emotive substance, both timeless and without border. It is a group of “limitless energy” and potential, fusing world sounds with classic rock grandiosity, catchy pop melodies and stirring lyrics. With a live theatrical atmosphere reminiscent of early Floyd and Zeppelin, it is an experience that will leave one moved, energized and reflective. Formed in 2008 by Daniel Katsük, this group is one of the most prolific and inspiring musical acts around. With the help of producer/guitarist Jeff Dahlgren, renown for his work with French icon Myléne Farmer, Wasted Youth, Warner Music Group, KatsüK has just released a 15 track sonic horizon called Zero Point, a highly anticipated follow up to KatsuK’s first album, Out In The Wind (2008). After three years in the studio, what has emerged is an epic recording that spans multiple genres and passionately relays the fire of trials and accomplishment, teaching and learning. The band has also been featured in several festivals including NX35, Funkytown Fall Festival, Dreamtime, Rock The Republic, Deep Ellum Arts Fest, Earth Dance, Heaven On Earth Festival, and many more. KatsüK has received repeated nods from the annual FW Weekly Music Awards, including a 2012 nomination for “Best Rock” group, 2011 “Best Live Band” and a 2010 nomination for “Song of the Year” for “Cut the Cord” off KatsüK’s 2010 E.P. Skeleton Key. Previous awards include “Best Acoustic/Folk Group” (2008), “Artist of the Year” (2005), “Best Acoustic Band” (2005), and “Singer/Songwriter of the Year” (dallasmusic.com, 2001). Along with many additional nominations by FW Weekly over the years, the track “Evergreen” from 2008’s Out in the Wind was recently chosen as one of the top ten songs of the last decade.
